Indonesia Participates in WTM 2010 in ExCel London

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia facilitated Indonesia's participation in the 31st World Travel Market (WTM) 2010, held from November 8-11 in London, UK. As the PCO appointed to arrange their participation in this prestigious event, Focus Convensindo has responsibility to design and construct the Indonesian Pavilion, arrange the Industrial Gathering and Indonesian Press Conference on WTM 2010.


The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia facilitated Indonesia's participation in the 31st World Travel Market (WTM) 2010, held from November 8-11 in London, UK. As the PCO appointed to arrange their participation in this prestigious event, Focus Convensindo has responsibility to design and construct the Indonesian Pavilion, arrange the Industrial Gathering and Indonesian Press Conference on WTM 2010.

The WTM was a four-day business to business travel exhibition presenting a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors to the United Kingdom and international tourism professionals.

World Travel Market is a global platform for the worldwide travel trade professionals to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business.

With a space of 244 square meters, Indonesian pavilion (stand AS 700) was successfully showcased the unique tourism products of Indonesia culture, nature, heritage and adventures, highlight by Indonesian famous coffee corner and the actual sized Komodo Dragon statue to attract visitors voted for Komodo National Park as one of the finalist for the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Making and bringing the Komodo Dragon itself was a real challenged for our team, as it was 1 month crafted in Bali, send to Focus Convensindo office in Jakarta, pack and delivered by cargo to UK and proudly placed in Indonesian Pavilion.

 

H.E. Yuri Octavian Thamrin, the Ambassador of the Republic Indonesia for UK with Mr. Sapta Nirwandar, the Director General of Tourism Marketing for Ministry of Culture and Tourism stand together for the cutting ribbon ceremony for the Opening of Indonesian Pavilion on November 8, 2010. “As the most important marketing event in the world which participated almost all countries, Indonesia should be able to take advantage from WTM to build business to business network and accomplished USD 7,5 billion income in tourism sector” says H.E Yuri.

Bringing 27 delegates from various Indonesian Tourism Industries, Ministry of Culture and Tourism initiated the Industrial Gathering on November 9, taking place in Indonesian Pavilion. While Sellers and Buyers meet and conduct business, visitors were entertained by attractive dance performance by Balinese dancer from Badung region, Bali.

 

Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia sponsored 2 (two) famtrip including airlines ticket and accommodation to Indonesia for 2 lucky journalists during Indonesia Press Conference and 2 (two) famtrip to Indonesia for 2 lucky buyers during Industrial Gathering.
